Mads Davidsen has been elected as new bishop in the Diocese of Funen in Denmark. 

On Sunday 2 April 2023, Mads Davidsen will be ordained bishop in Odense Cathedral.

Mads Davidsen was ordained in 2004 and began his ministry at the Husumvold Pastorate in the Diocese of Copenhagen.

In 2007, he came to Fyens Diocese, where he was a minister in Fredens Pastorate in Odense and then in Øster Skerninge Pastorate and Munkebo Pastorate.

In 2018, he became a study lecturer for the pastoral seminary program in Copenhagen.

He graduated as a theologian from the University of Copenhagen in 2003, and in 2008 he took a two-year course in general pastoral care at the continuing education for priests.

He was worked many years as a researcher and lecturer at the Centre for Pastoral Education and Research, and he is the initiator and co-author of the "Prædikenhåndbogen" (The sermon hand book).
