A journey to explore the roots of Anglican tradition and history 25-29 June 2011
Canterbury Cathedral, England, is the Mother Church of the worldwide Anglican Communion, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and an important place of pilgrimage and prayer.
Jonathan LLoyd, Anglican Priest in Denmark, is leading a small ecumenical group of 14 people on a four day visit. The group will visit the Abbey of St Augustine, Canterbury Cathedral, and the Greyfriars Church (Society of Saint Francis). We will experience the prayer life of the cathedral (including the Sunday Eucharist and Evensong), and have expert guided tours of the cathedral and city.
We will stay at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge, a modern hotel in the cathedral grounds.
The cost of the trip is 4000dkk (4 nights hotel, breakfasts, 3 guided tours, but not including flights and meals). The rooms are single (with bathrooms). Twin rooms are also available.
The flights are the responsibilty of each participant, and we will eat out in local restaurants. The nearest airport is London Gatwick.
